This is the twenty-third in the series Travel Destinations in the USA for Retired Life. This destination starts with the Letter W. Woodstock, Vermont is worth adding to your retirement bucket list…

Woodstock is one of the prettiest villages in America.
A quaint New England town, Woodstock in Vermont just happens to be one of the prettiest villages in the USA. Take a drive at any time of the year to this beautiful hamlet in the Green Mountains. The historic homes and buildings, the old-world storefronts and the select shops are magical.

During winter, you are guaranteed snow. This New England town will charm you with its magic. The scenery is a Christmas card perfect and worth visiting during the holiday season. You can enjoy a white Christmas with joyful decorations all around you. Skiing at the Suicide Six Skiing Area, sleigh rides, and sledding are just some of the things you can do here in winter.

Other seasons are just as beautiful with lush greenery. You will enjoy walking through the village green. Shop at some of the curated craft shops or eat at one of the small but delicious restaurants here. We recommend pancakes, sandwiches and eggs here!

There is a community bulletin board at the Greens that carries all the local events and news. How wonderful and a refreshing change from our tech-driven lives. The public library and book shops are worth visiting. Both are close to the Green.
A Living farm
You can visit a live working farm – the Billings Farm and Museum is a peek into farming life. You can take a look at the history of farming at the museum and take a wagon ride!
If you are here on a Wednesday, lucky you! The Farmers Market sells fresh produce, food and even some crafts which you can enjoy listening to live music.
Glass-blowing, maple syrup-making, breweries and biking are other programs and activities to keep you busy. Rockefeller National Park is close by and has some really good trails.

Do visit the covered bridge in Woodstock if you’re into such things! Middle Covered Bridge is near the Green. People love to take photos there.

Driving through New England is really nice, so you could make a trip of it by visiting other local attractions

Wow.. One of the most scenic posts of A2Z. True. This heavenly beauty questions the pleasures of materialistic urbans.
